Copyright and Licensing Policy

The Cardiovascular Academy Society prioritizes the protection of intellectual property rights and the provision of an access model compliant with ethical publishing principles for its official journal. This policy defines the framework regarding copyright ownership, licensing practices, and content usage. Specific licensing terms for the journal are clearly indicated on its website.

Copyright Ownership
Unless otherwise specified, copyright for articles published in the journal remains with the author(s). At the time of submission, authors must declare that the work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and does not infringe upon third-party rights. Upon acceptance, authors grant the Association the rights to publish, store, and distribute the work in both print and digital formats by signing the Copyright Agreement Form. While copyright remains with the author(s), in some cases, usage and distribution rights may be transferred to the institution or publishing board affiliated with the journal.

Creative Commons Licenses
All articles published by the journal are licensed under a Creative Commons (CC) license in line with open access policies. The type of license applied is clearly indicated both in the article metadata and on the journal’s website. Common licenses include:

- CC BY (Attribution): Content may be used for any purpose, including commercial, as long as proper attribution is given.
- CC BY-SA (Attribution – ShareAlike): Content can be used with attribution and must be shared under the same license.
- CC BY-NC (Attribution – NonCommercial): Content may be used for non-commercial purposes only, with proper attribution.
- CC BY-NC-ND (Attribution – NonCommercial – NoDerivatives): Content can be shared non-commercially, without modifications, and with attribution.

Users are advised to carefully review the terms of the relevant license before using any article.

Authors’ Responsibilities
Authors guarantee that the work they submit for publication is original, prepared in accordance with ethical standards, and does not infringe on the copyrights of third parties. Tables, images, datasets, or quotations belonging to third parties must be properly cited and used with the necessary permissions. Furthermore, it is the author’s responsibility to comply with the Creative Commons license applied to the article.

Content Usage
Users may use articles within the limits defined by the applicable license. Generally, educational, teaching, personal archiving, and non-commercial academic sharing are permitted. However, commercial use, modifications, or creation of derivative works are only allowed where explicitly permitted by the license. Any usage without proper attribution is considered copyright infringement.

In cases where the license does not permit certain uses, prior written permission must be obtained from the author(s) or the journal’s editorial office.

Requests for Permission and Licensing
Users seeking detailed information on licensing terms or wishing to request special permissions are advised to review the “Copyright and Licensing” section on the journal’s website or contact the editorial office directly.
