Open Access Policy
The Cardiovascular Academy Society believes that the free circulation of scientific knowledge supports academic development and enhances the visibility of research outputs. In this regard, the Association has adopted an open access policy aligned with the principles defined by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
Immediate and Permanent Access
The Association’s official journal follows a full open access model. Accordingly, all published articles become openly accessible from the moment of publication. Readers can access content free of charge without any membership, subscription, or time limitations.
Usage Rights and Creative Commons License
All content may be used by third parties under the Creative Commons license specified by the journal. Depending on editorial decisions, one of the following license types may be applied:
- CC BY (Attribution)
- CC BY-SA (Attribution – ShareAlike)
- CC BY-NC (Attribution – NonCommercial)
- CC BY-NC-ND (Attribution – NonCommercial – NoDerivatives)
Users may, in accordance with the relevant license terms:
- Read, download, and print content
- Share and reproduce it
- Use it for educational or academic purposes
- Apply it for search, indexing, or text/data mining processes
Author Rights and Scientific Integrity
Protecting authors’ scholarly contributions is a key priority of the Association. Each published work must clearly state the author(s)’ names and the original source of publication. Ensuring the originality, ethical integrity, and proper attribution of the content remains the full responsibility of the authors.
Article Processing Charges (APCs)
The journal determines its own fee policy in line with its editorial structure.
- Article processing fees (APCs) may be charged to support technical and editorial services.
- Alternatively, the publication process may be offered free of charge.
Regardless of the model applied, the right to open access is never offered as a commercial product. Every article published in the journal is openly accessible to readers. Authors and readers are encouraged to consult the “Fee Policy” section of the journal’s website before submission or publication.
Indexing and Archiving
Open access content is made available to a broader readership through inclusion in national and international indexes, open access repositories, and university libraries. Long-term digital preservation is ensured as part of this process.
Open Science Approach
The Association supports not only open access but also the broader principles of open science, including open data, transparent methodology reporting, and reproducibility. This approach aims to strengthen the reliability of scholarly publishing and the sustainability of scientific contribution.
